This was the first time ever I ahve tried the fruit.
We cut it in half and Robert banged the bejeebers out of it to get the seads out. I had no ideas that it was the seeds you were to eat. So Tuesday night Robert presented me with a bowl containing the half of the fruit (no seeds) & I was jsut staring at it trying to figure out what I'm to eat. There's white membrane inside like an orange has so i picked at it and chewed it and yuck! tossed it in the trash and spoke to a close friend. She said "we eat the seeds" So I told Robert and he jsut laughed. It was the first time he tried the fruit as well. Last night we worked on the other half. He banged the fruit with a wooden spoon and got all the seeds out in a bowl and rinsed them in water drained them and brought ehm to me with a paper plate. Yummmmm I love the mead stuff on the fruit and tossed the seed inside out. So i bagged quite a bit and am ready to bag more of them.

Is it all worth the trouble? You bet!

I'll be looking up the nutrition benefits of this fruit.

I have never tried pom., however, I am really going to very soon! Dr. Oz had a dr. on his show a week or so ago, and he used a wooden TAP the pom. after he cut it ALMOST in half, and the seeds fell right out into a bowl!! What a cool idea!!

I LOVE pomegranates. They're a bit of a pricey fruit, so I look for them when they're on sale, and eat them as a special treat. I go right ahead and let it stain my fingers, and eat it a half at a time, peeling it clump by clump. I like to eat the whole seed (juicy bit and "seedy" center).

I love that it is so labor intensive and time-consuming to eat...I feel like I am totally satisfied, but if I was eating something else over the same amount of time, I'd have eaten a lot MORE, and more calories. Plus it's fun to eat!!
