I am 33 years old. In my 33 years... I have been a bridesmaid once. That once was to my sister in a shotgun (literally... they had my dad carry a shotgun as he walked her down the aisle) wedding. It was outside. Very casual. I wore khaki capris and a tank top. Nothing spectacular.
This wedding will be a formal event. Dresses. The whole nine yards. I will probably be the oldest of the bridesmaids too. I don't want to be the fattest either. I want to blend in with these girls who are 3-6 years younger than me... not stand out like a sore thumb.
So the first thing I did in honor of being asked to stand up in this wedding with my amazing friend? I exercised!
OK.... that is what I should have done. I sat down with some Pringles and a mixed drink and then colored my hair.
*sigh*
The pressure is on. I am trying not to feel it. Not to let it get to me. I started today off on the right foot with my slim fast shakes and two healthy snacks packed in my lunch box. I'm toying with joining a local gym b/c I can join for $15.00 a month. I do better when going to a gym. Especially if it is cold out as it is now. I will have to find the time to make sure I go as often as possible, which isn't easy for any of us. But if I really want it... I will do it! Helps that they have a tanning bed there. B/c my legs are so pasty white and never see the sun... and she informed me that the dresses will be knee length. I'm glad she gave me plenty of notice. They think the wedding may be in November... So time to get on the ball.
I'm so excited to be a bridesmaid for my friend!!!
In other news dance competition season is heating up!! We are preparing for our first competition in February, and running a very fun fundraiser. For $5.00, people may purchase a raffle ticket. We will draw a winner the end of this month. The winner will receive a gift basket with an overnight stay at a bed and breakfast and a $50.00 gift card to a restaurant that is walking distance to the B&B. It is very exciting!!! I can not wait to have one of the girls draw the winning name, and call the winner to tell them that they have won!!
V is still struggling against authority at the therapy school. They feel she does most of her acting out as an attention seeking behavior. We are told to ignore or redirect bad behavior, and lavish praise on the good behavior. It is so hard sometimes, but we are doing our best with it.
I weighed myself yesterday. Since doing the Slim Fast regimine, I am down 3 lbs. I plan to keep it up!!!
I hope you all are having fabulous days!!!
