January 17

Thank you everyone for all the replies to my last blog!

First my weight progress, when I posted last I was at 186.8 lbs. I'm down to 183. That is good. I would like to be at 179 by the month end. Exercise has been up and down. The weather has been gross. I don't like getting out in it. So I exercise inside. But when everyone is home that is hard. I am yet to go over to the community center to use the fitness center. Mainly because I don't have a car most days so I would have to walk in the nasty weather. Yes, in Naples I use to. But it was warmer there. It is cold here and once it gets into my bones I can't get warm again for hours and then my body hurts. But this week has been better. I have done all my workout including cardio besides walking and weights and stretching. I can tell I haven't been enough stretching. I have been doing Sparkpeople's January Jumpstart Challenge since the 6th. The first week I did the bare minimum exercise for that. This week I'm doing extra.

I'm tired this morning but otherwise feeling ok. Getting ready to walk over to the post office and then drive to Food Lion. Just need a few items but it is 2.5 miles there and today that is just too far for me to walk.

Have a great day!

Hello, I am new on the Amazing Race team. Liked your blog and yes, the weather is definitely an impediment! I live in Colorado and we have days that even the dogs don't want to go out in. I am lucky that I have an elliptical set up in my TV room. Takes up half the room, but it's that important to me. On the other days, I do try to MAKE myself head outside. I have good outdoors wear made by GoLite and with that stuff on (wind pants, undershirt, jacket, gloves, hat, scarf) I can stand it and sometimes, sometimes, I even enjoy it! Maybe explore getting some warmer clothes. Or get yourself a used treadmill or elliptical and make a part of the family. Best wishes to you on your journey, you will succeed!

Good progress, you and I need to work on our exercise inspite of bad weather. Glad you seem to be making the effort.

    Hi Renee,

I'm in Maryland too and this weather really has been dreary. Way to go on still getting out in it to exercise! Take care!
