TV Trivia

TOO HOT FOR TV
The sci-fi drama The Powers of Matthew Star was slated to begin airing in 1981, but while filming an episode, star Peter Barton accidentally fell onto a pyrotechnic flare, igniting it. Costar Lou Gossett Jr., who was tied to a chair, then fell on top of Barton. Gossett was only mildly injured, but Barton suffered third-degree burns to a quarter of his body and remained hospitalized for months. Barton recovered fully and the show hit the air a year after its intended debut … but it lasted for only one season.

William Petersen of CSI named his character “Grissom” after his hero, astronaut Gus Grissom.

Good, good, sad! Always have wonder how they come up with names for characters on series.

Lou Gossett, jr was in so many '80's shows.

Remember Phoenix? It was one of my favorite one season wonders.
