I wrote this blog a few weeks ago - just to update you my new approach of measured exercise is paying off - have lost 13lbs in 17 days and now do at least one 10 mile walk a week.
The key to success is slow and steady!
Started again recently and I have always been bull at a gate type person and would start exercising hard the inevitable would happen I would get an injury some strain pull or massive blisters and the will would fail.
So this time I thought no take it easy and just start walking. Well I mapped out a 4 mile route mainly off road mostly flat with 2 half decent climbs and Off I set. The first time took nearly 90 minutes and was hard work. However after only 3 weeks I have it down to 57 minutes better than 4 miles an hour.
The plan is to start jogging 100yds here and then back to walking and then another 100 yds and slowly built my body up to harder exercise.
This time I feel in control and believe that this approach will make me appreciate the exercise more. My goal is to get my time to 40 minutes I fully expect this to take many months but I'm looking forward to making it a long hard challenge.
Walking has done wonders for my waist line by pulling it in at the corners I didn't expect walking could work the stomach so much.
So my advice to those brain dead men like me who think that all exercise has to be hard is calm down take a long term view go on a long walk and think about it.
Have a great day everybody
