New things from last week and this week

The new things I tried last week were foods. I found i could eat the mini animal crackers and enjoyed them. I found i did not care for asparagus and had a difficult time eating it. I also found I didn't care for caramel striped cookies. I took one bite and it burned so bad, I gave the rest to Bob.

This week I have signed up for a class for a new kind of journaling called Soul Collage. It sounds like it will well worth while. Just as we make our collages, in this class we make 5" x 8" collage cards. There are different categories: Committee Cards, Community cards, Companion/Animal Cards, Council Cards, and Transpersonal Cards. I have never done this kind of journaling in all the years I have worked with it. The actual title of the course is: Unexpected Journeys: Using SoulCollageĀ®
as a Tool During Times of Illness. It will be held via phone for 3 weeks. We'll be working making cards, journaling, and telling about any of our own journeys with unexpected illnesses. I think everyone knows about mine two cancers and my journeys with them. Right now, one of my long time friends and mentor in OH
has been having some really bad issues with her CPOD. She has to be on oxygen 24/7 and her case has been turned over to Hospice. I try to talk to her several times a week and we email short notes to each other, but I know she tires easily. I'm hoping these classes will help me dealing with knowing how to talk to her. As bad as my journeys were, she is struggling and we all know the outcome. I am truly looking forward to these classes (three in total considered the entire class).

I hope everyone enjoys their week and will try something new. Our team now has 15 members including myself. It is nice to have a small group and being able to keep up with what everyone is doing.

For all my Spark Buds, continue to make those wise choices and if you fall down, pick yourself up and start over with your next meal or snack. Rewarding yourself for each goal with something non-food is important, too. Try to make someone else feel better about themselves, and continue to smile!

My Hawk friend who lives nearby. He often drops different feathers in our drive or on the front walk for me. once in awhile he'll sit on the front walk until i say hello.
