Update on my mother. I am home right now (at least overnight). She is doing as well as can be expected in the hospital for her condition. The doctors who performed the surgery said that the operation went great and that they were able to remove everything without touching the bone in her leg and they just removed the mass. We are anxiously awaiting the results of the pathology report. They have not said when they will recieve that information. The ocupational and physical therapists both have been by mom's room and have been working her on walking with the use of a walker, but, she is NOT to bear weight on that bad leg yet. Also the plastic surgeon is very pleased with the results of the skin grafting. Beverly Wilkerson Stevenson Troxell though is still very weak and has had hardly no appetite at all for anything other than fruit. The social worker as well as the plastic surgeon say mom may be leaving to go to a rehab facility on saturday at the latest and will maybe stay for a month. We shall see.
