Happiness is Blue Skies

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

I registered for some tickets to a Willie Nelson concert, where I could only hope to hear him sing "Blue Skies". I love every rendition I've ever heard of that song, whether it's his slow and sad version or Al Jolsen's or Danny Kaye and Bing Crosby's cheery version, or even the version Data sings at Deanna and Riker's wedding on Star Trek.

I don't know when it happened, but by the time I left work today, the skies were blue, and it was so pretty I decided that, rather even than picking up my girls and going for a walk, I'd go for a walk and pick them up.

You don't realize how far away a place is until you take the time to walk there. It was dark by the time we got home, more than an hour later! But I got some outdoor exercise in--Yay!

I think it's one of the movies, actually. Nemesis, I think?

Hey, 2Hamsdiet, I hear ya! Around here, we're more likely to see water mocassins than rattlesnakes, but thanks for reminding me I have reasons to fear out there!

Yay! I'll bet they loved that little surprise, too! Soon it will start to be light later in the day and that will help too! That's a great habit to start :)

Oh I have had that happen. Now late afternoon I take a flashlight. ... I'm scared of rattle snakes in my path and not the dark. emoticon
