I saw your vlog listed on SP when I was looking at different ones that looked interesting enough to click on! You're so smart to get your story out to SP and then get responses of support for you! So that's what this is. Good luck to you and I'm wishing you the very best with your SP journey. I'll add you and feel free to add me back. We all can use help anyway we can. I know that I do! I've lost 67# here on SP and before, and I feel like I'm losing my grasp. I need to get back on track and that's why I dig around and look for some motivation! With each other's help, we can do this! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

One thing you can do is to pick one of your favorite Lean Cuisine dishes and then search Spark for a healthier version of it. There are lots of recipes on here that people have done to tweak regular recipes to have less sodium, fat, sugar, etc.

Good luck!

HEy, you are one step further than me right now - I haven't tried making a video yet. I wouldn't know what to say so I would probably type it out first but then it would be awkward since I would just be reading what I wrote - and a load of um's thrown in. Maybe I will try it sometime since you were brave and did it:) I absolutely LOVE this community. I joined last year too but haven't really used it until December. I got this little device called a fitbit that tracks my steps, calories burned, sleep pattern and downloads it to the computer and also sync to the tracker on SparkPeople! It is amazing and I have lost 6pounds so far since December but I don't care how long it takes - I still have 44 pounds to go and my first 5K to run.
I hate how cruel kids can be - words hurt but I am glad you are putting a positive spin on it and using it to spur your own action to get healthy - I am sure your kids are proud! Keep us updated:)

No reason to be self-conscious we all seem to be in the same boat. And we have to love our "fat" selves too. This is a good start, don't give up. Do it one step at a time. I am borderline everything and decided to try Sparkpeople and be healthier this year. GO FOR IT!!! SUCCEED!!

Kim, I am brand new on here. I loved your blog...you were candid and I kept thinking, gee, she's not very big, she can't have that much to lose. I swear I was thinking that! :) Good luck and check in w/me sometime too, I am doing a blog.

YAY!!! Love the vlog!!! An idea Ive just done, is get low carb tortillas or whole wheat tortillas, get some 1/3 less fat flavored cream cheese, they have farmer veggie or the chive one and then you can add whatever veggies you like, and I use peppered chicken or turkey lunch meat from the grocery deli, fresh cut, roll it up and enjoy with a cup of soup or some baby carrots and celery and YUMMO so easy, really cheap since you can make so many with what you buy. And it is SO fast! I'm going to do a video and show how I make them along with some other quick things I use for my lunches. You did great on your vlog btw! I never write anything down and I blab on for ever lol you kept is short and sweet!

Thanks for your introduction. You can succeed. A healthy lifestyle with eating and exercise improve can really help your high BP as well as your pre (or even full-fledged) diabetes. Have you discovered the menu plans where SP plans you meals for you? That might be an option if you have trouble thinking of what to fix.

I have gotten off my meds in the past (I am diabetic, with high BP and high cholesterol, asthma, and sleep apnea). I am already weaning myself back again having lost about 1/4 of what I need to lose. It CAN happen for you too. Good luck and have FUN on the journey. With a 6 year old, you can probably find things to do that are FUN with her and can help you move more too.

Yes we can! I'm a lot older that you are, but I am raising a granddaughter, which kind of puts me on the mom track again, doesn't it? Righ now I am struggling through a knee replacement, and I kind of have that self conscious feeling that I am being kind of silly, just putting myself out there. Why should anybody care what I am doing?

But they do! I know you will be surprised by the people you will meet, and the friendships you will form. And there are people here who will amaze you and inspire you by what they have done! If they can do it, so can we!!

The first step is wanting to! I think that you are in that position and here's to hoping that 2013 will be a very good year for you!
