I am so proud of my family. I have really been trying to get my family to eat better for a while now, but it was like talking to a brick wall. My husbands food groups include beef jerky, chips, popcorn, Red Bull and Pop Tarts. I finally sat down with my husband and told him how important it is to me that all of us start living a healthier lifestyle, but this time I explained why as well. For some reason he seemed to have listened this time. Usually after school my husband and son would stop for a bean and cheese burrito for their afternoon "snack", but for the past two weeks they have been eating cheese and crackers or a piece of fruit. I was completely taken by surprise.
When I went grocery shopping I really didn't buy enough fruits and veggies for all of us because normally I'm the only one that eats them so we ran out in 3 days. I am so glad that I have this problem. Now every time we sit down to eat something, my son asks "Mom is this healthy?" When I tell him it is, he replies, "Good. I like eating healthy food." I am so proud of my family!
