If at first you don't succeed.....

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

So a couple of weeks ago I was thrilled to have joined the January Jumpstart team, and was doing pretty well..then..I got sick. I realize that is hardly a novel thing these days, seems like folks all over are coughing and sneezing and feeling generally lousy.. But after a pretty darn good first week, I have to admit, it knocked me on my .... at bit.. I could not exercise, had no stamina, had no desire..

I am finally feeling better, and after missing more than a week's worth of exercises, I was left with a dilemma..what to do about the January Jumpstart. I finally made a decision today..I quit the team, and then re-joined. So I did ride my exercise bike for a little bit this morning, and when I get home today, I will do my first 10 minute workout.. If at first you don't succeed.....

And on an entirely different note, in my last blog I requested prayers for my brother in law, whose 7 year battle with cancer had reached a low point. We are a couple of weeks away from knowing whether the treatment he received last week did what it is supposed to and suppressed the disease, but he is home and for the past couple of days has been more we are waiting hopefully and faithfully. But so many responded so kindly with such warm wishes and prayers that I thought I would let you know where we are..thank you so much for being such wonderful friends.. I do love my sparkfriends so..

Please enjoy what is left of this day..and try to sparkle in whatever you do!!

That's right, T... if we don't succeed, try... then try again and again, because that's how 'it' goes- life, I mean. We 'do' what we can where we are, when we can, but certain 'things' happen to interrupt routines and we must make allowances. Once the sails are adjusted, we're back on course. Today, my plans were readjusted for me, but I made 'do' with the what I was 'served' and it'll work for now. Tomorrow, I'll jump right back in to my plan and pick up from there.

I am keeping Bob, Judy and Jessica, b4 the Lord, the best I can. I double-checked their names to see if I had them right, and found I did, which was a relief, but I'm sure He would know who I meant even if I didn't. LOL!! Seven years is a pretty long HELL of a time for him to have had to fight this sick, T. I will continue my prayers and keep me posted. emoticon

I got sick during my first week and decided to restart as well. I like the consistency that the jumpstart provides and the gradual increase in exercise. Good luck on your journey and best wishes for your family.
