1-16-13 - Mid month updates

Ok thought i should get this all done so that I dont forget, which I will LOL>
I weighted a couple days ago and was down 6.8 lbs since the 2nd. Woohoo me. I have been sticking to the Reader Digest Diet and have had little to no problems except in the last week, when I seemed to be getting my DH cold, but all that I get was a very sore throat. I have been taking zinc tabs, airborne, and drinking green tea with honey, lemon,and cinnamon for the last couple weeks. This morning I woke up and throat is better, no congestion so I am to heck with this cold.
I went to Curves this am for an appt to talk about their new program and have signed up for a 6 months. I still have a lot a reading to do, but will start on it by MOnday. It is very similar to WW I am told on the food, but I like that I can make it work for me and since I have been doing a white flour, sugar and process food free diet these last 6 months I am going to keep with that.
It sounds like a good program, mostly moderate eating, exercise and motivation with a coach weekly. You have the use of their on line tools and menu planning. I think the reason I like it is that one on one with a real person. I love SP but miss that human contact too. And I am already a member so the added cost is something I can manage for 6 months.
I also love the structure for that is one thing I really do need. Right now not thinking about what to eat or do is easy for me I just follow instructions, and I am learning the things I need to do for the future by making good habits. I read a couple articles here on SP about setting your goal weight and one thing is that its a hard thing to do, but I learned a lot about my body type (avocado) and my metabolism, I horde fat(of course that would be me) but all this information helped to since those are factors we can not change we have to adapt to them and learn how to make it work and that is what I have been doing now for over 3 years.
I am not discouraged but enlightened to learn more about body types and metabolism to see what else I can do to help with weight loss. Time for more research and growing, since all that I learn with be things I will use for the rest of my long and healthy life.
So far this year I have hanging strong. I do have one thing to do this weekend and that is a new motivational poster for the 50 lb challenge team and will post that when done, I had hoped to have it done by now but ugh that cold got me for a few days at least and slowed me done, but now I am going to more forward and IF the cold catches me I will deal with it then, but hope I have out ran it!!
