Been a crazy week for sure! My idea to do daily blogs is obviously not working out so well LOL. Anyway, having my dog Peanut be sidelined post-op is making it hard for me to get motivated to walk (especially when it is cold and rainy!). I'm going to give him another few days of extremely limited activity, and then try doing some really long, really SLOW walks. I don't think that'll bother his incision, and maybe will help burn off a bit of his energy. He is going stir crazy with having to wear the "cone of shame" aka Elizabethan collar 24/7 and having to be kenneled 24/7. But I don't have a choice about either of those things until the staples come out in another 10 days. Every time I take the collar off, he turns around and tries licking his incision! And if I don't have him on a short leash, when I let him out of his kennel he tries jumping on the bed or the sofa :-(.

Anyway, so several of my new year's goals have been a bit sidelined - obviously walking the dog every day is not going to happen! I also managed to forget yesterday to do my pushups and situps :-( and I had been hoping I could manage that for at least one month straight. Oh well. At least I am tracking food and getting my water in :-).

I really do need to start being better about my diet - I've been eating too much and too badly the last couple of weeks, but again, I do realize that I am an emotional eater, and I've been more than a little stressed. I just need to figure out some way other than eating to deal with it :-). If only it were as simple as saying to myself "don't do that"! I did buy a groupon for acupuncture, maybe I'll try to schedule that and see if that would help at all with my weight loss. Can't hurt (well, it's needles, maybe it can!).

Go do the acupuncture. It's amazing. Take as good care of yourself as you do Peanut - golden rule for pet persons. emoticon

you've got a lot on your plate with your sick dog. I know how hard that is. Give yourself a break and aim to do the best you can given the circumstances. I find if I stress less about where I'm failing it often improves on its own. I'm sure Peanut will be back to his crazy self in no time!

I here you. maybe you can just pick a re-start date? You can do this.

Poor Peanut. My grils would be going nuts.

Glad to hear Peanut is doing okay. Focusing on the positives (tracking food & getting your water in) is better than beating yourself up for not doing daily walks, blogging, etc.

Hopefully the weather will warm up and we'll have a few days of sunshine to get outside. I think we are all going a little stir crazy.

Keep up the good work!
