Yesterday's frustrations were all 4-legged and canine. I started to take my dog up the mountain. On our usual road I saw a large dog, twice the size of Andi (whom I gave up lifting on to the scales after about 33 kilo as my back couldn't cope). Probably harmless, but I wasn't going to risk Andi getting eaten (or myself, come to that!). Took another road and another equally large dog started approaching in a definitely unfriendly manner. Retreated to a friend in town who had a letter for me. On the way back I saw a small dog running loose and didn't want to risk him getting eaten if he picked a fight with Andi, so took another road, and out jumped a very large and aggressive Alsatian. After the initial shock I realised he was on a chain, a very long chain! So much for our walk up the mountain - tho I still got in about 55 floors, and made 10,000 paces by the skin of my teeth. Also did Coach N's 8 minute cardio workout, in addition to the strength workout for the day's Jumpstart, and put in 15 minutes doing some urgent wood chopping.
Today I stayed in the village, and was amazed to see I'd passed 5,000 paces without noticing. Did 5 extra flights of stairs, mof which fitbit only registered 4, so I did an extra one to bring the record up to 10. As well as the Jumpstart strength workout, I did the 28 minute (8 warmup plus 20 cardio) cardio bodysculpt video, followed by Nicole's 8 minute cardio. Also walked 1.5 miles around the village according to fitbit.
Acted on Meg's video suggesting we sort out or kitchens etc. Cleared my main work surface and thus had space and inspiration to put out the ingredients for Nicky's special cook-in sauce cum salad dressing, which then only took 5 minutes to chuck together! Just right for the green salad I chucked together to go with my pasticio. I'm working at eating fruit as well as vegs. as per Spark Coach recommendation for last week. I need to do some meal planning. Today I was saved the trouble, as the friend I visited had made some excellent borek, which I counted as lunch. The pasticio turned out to be 12 portions, some of which I need to freeze. I had reckoned 8, but the calorie counter suggested 12 was quite few enough - and one of those 12 portions is filling.
I find my appetite and taste is changing as I continue sparking. As is my feeling about exercise, which I'm beginning to enjoy. Spark Coach is a great blessing. I start the day with SC, listening to the video while I'm lighting the stove, making coffee or whatever. Do the jumpstart video first thing, once the stove is lit and the water heating up ready for the caffeine fix with which I reward myself for getting moving!
