This morning I was dressing for work, and I chose the pants that I originally bought for my EMT job to wear to my biotech job. They are comfortable, and great on snowy days like today because they repel water. I had stopped wearing them 2 years ago when I was not EMTing because of my shoulder, and when I tried them on last year they didn't fit well. They had gotten tight in the thighs and in the stomach and butt. Not happy making for me. This morning, I not only fit into them, but they are a little big and fit better than when I bought them! Yes!!
It's not always the scale that shows the progress. I know I've said it before, but it bears repeating. So many times we get down on ourselves because the scale didn't move, but you didn't notice that you lost a 1/2" around your hips. It's all counting towards the end goal, which is to be healthy!
A coworker of mine recently asked me what I did to lose weight. I linked her to Sparkpeople. She's joined and has been learning her way around for 2 days. I am glad I was able to show her this. It works, it makes sense, it debunks the myths. It's not a scam pill. It's the way you really need to do it to succeed. This isn't a fad. It's a lifestyle. The support of real people on the same journey as you are is real. We've been there and done that. We have the tshirts to prove it
Celebrate those NSV's, people!! They are one step closer to healthier living!
