Happiness is dancing.

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

You've heard the advice "Dance like no one is watching?" We do that in my house. There is an animated TV show (out of Canada, I think?) called "Ruby Gloom" which has a very catchy theme song and has always made my little girl bob her head. Recently, though, she has noticed that when the show is ending, there are silhouettes of the characters off to the sides of the credits, and each character dances in a different way. So, as each character has his or her moment on the screen, my daughter imitates their dances. SO CUTE!

We watched it this morning while we were getting ready, and a new episode was just starting while we were on our way out. At the beginnings there is a part where all the characters are lined up and "marching" down a hill. This prompts my daughter to march. And so, as we headed out the door and to the car, my daughter and I walked in a (admittedly short) line and marched out to the car. Like no one was watching.

What a lovely time for you and your daughter, and a bit of exercise at the same time---great for both of you,

I LOVE RUBY GLOOM!! My daughter is hooked on that show too. We can watch it on Netflix but it is super hard to find it on DVD or even merchandise from that show here in the U.S.

Maybe it is stationed in Canada? Not sure. Either way I downloaded a pic of Ruby Gloom and we are printing it on edible paper to put it on my daughter bday cake.

It does have an insanely catchy theme song- and the song that Lin and Frank write for Misery to sing at Gloompalooza is the song my husband sings to my daughter when we put her to bed- its a weird song but she loves it!

It's so fun when your kids bring out the kid in you! A "parade" to the car every morning would be such a fun way to start the day!
