It's all about planning

Yesterday was such a great day as far as meeting my nutrition and fitness goals. I ate well, and got in a 2-mile treadmill run over the lunch hour. I felt energetic all day. Why can't every day go so well? It's simple. It's all in the planning -- but we already know this, right? Then why is it so hard? My first excuse is always time. It's take time to sit down and think about what to eat for the next few days. It's hard to give up a lunch hour to workout. I often need my lunch hour to run errands. It's also the primary time I have for socializing with friends. Sometimes, lunch time is my only chance to log-on to SparkPeople -- you get the idea. Still, yesterday taught me a lesson. By having good food handy and ready to eat, I was able to eat well in a hurry. By having made plans to meet a co-worker to go run, I was accountable to her and didn't even think about finding an excuse to not go work out. I now have a plan to meet my co-worker to run every Tuesday and Thursday, and I find I'm really looking forward to it. As far as food, I know all the rules, I just have to stick with the plan. "I" have to do this, ME. And you know what, I think I can. I think I finally want to be more fit and healthy bad enough to make a good plan and stick with it. Watch out 2013, here I come!
