Ready for Surgery

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

Got my pre-op physical for lung surgery this AM and all is fine. The RN that did the physical was mentioning the BIG difference in my weight from 2008. I explained to her about SparkPeople . She said she and her husband have been trying to lose weight but not succeeding as they both like to cook and eat. She said she is going to hit the computer as soon as she gets home to find out more. (my good deed for the day heh-heh).
As of today I am through Chemo for my eye and all other meds except for the inhalers and Glaucoma meds at night until after surgery. My life has revolved around timing for meds for 2 months now and I am glad for the break
The nurse was surprised at my vitals as my BP was 120/68 and my O2 level was 100%. She then said she is definitely checking out SparkPeople if I can show results like that right before surgery. I have been doing some studying on the internet about robotic surgery and am comfortable with it. I don't like giving up caffeinated coffee but it has been raising the pressure in my eyes to a level that the doctors don't like and when I switch to decaffeinated coffee, the pressure drops down to safe levels.
My weight is remaining steady at 145.5 and my attitude is improving thanks in large part to the well-wishes from a lot of members here.
I am taking it easy this week, the gym and dog hiking only.
It took a bit to start thinking positive but I am getting there.

I gave up caffeine years ago due to migraine headaches. Only drink decaf and do not miss the caffeine . Your body gets used to it!
