Today, I changed for my Sparkcoach plateau busting to My Sparkcoach consistency and motivation team. As I was writing my introduction on that team, I realized that I am not stuck in a plateau, I am just stuck. This is the weight I am. So I needed to remind myself of how my journey began:
I joined SP 10/14/2009. I lost 65 lbs almost 25 years ago and it has all come back. I stopped showing my horse in 2009 so there was no incentive to fit in my riding suit. Then, I quit smoking Jan 1, 2010 and I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in June of 2010. Those two things really put me in a tailspin. I couldn't eat any fiber. Basically it was white everything. Took me about 1.5 years to get the colitis under control and, in that time, my weight kept going up. I truly began using SP after I quit smoking, but I couldn't follow the nutrition plan.
I am trying to start back eating healthy again, but now, I have been stuck at this same weight for a couple years. It needs to go. For me, I have to learn to be consistent with my eating. I am great at home, but when we go out, I generally make poor choices including cocktails. I love anything with cream sauces. Also, it is very difficult to know what ingredients they use in restaurants which makes it very difficult to track honestly. We generally don't go to chain restaurants so the nutrition is not listed anyway. I like eating out as I work from home and it is my way of "getting away from the office." I have made some really positive changes lately, but I need to stay consistent and motivated.
Exercise has become pretty much a daily habit. If I miss at all, it is one day a week. I am very good at tracking through out the day until it comes to foods I ate while eating out. I am working on that. I have cut way back on the alcohol and will continue to do so.
Consistency is key!
