I'm slowly figuring out this no dairy thing. I have become obsessive about reading the labels on food, not for the nutriotional information (although that is definitely still important to me), but for the far more important presence or absence of milk products. It is absolutely shocking the number of things that contain milk products.
I've discovered that I can fairly safely eat at Subway and Wok Box, using reason of course, but that most of the other fast food and sit down restaurants in town are either on the "it's a risk" or the "no freaking way" lists. I really wish more places would provide allergy information. A lot provide lists of gluten free items, and they all tell you if nuts are included, but mostly that's it. I was impressed that the Keg had such an exhaustive list of allergens, but very disheartened to realize that there are only three things on their menu that I can eat safely.
With the massive cold and then the digestive issues, I haven't been working out at all for the last two weeks. I'm hoping to get back to that starting tomorrow, even if it's a light short workout. I still have a fair bit of chest congestion lingering after the cold so I don't want to push it too hard.
I also need to get my diet under control again. With the issues I've been having with food, I've been letting myself eat whatever I knew wouldn't cause a reaction, whether it was all that good for me or not. I've been slowly finding foods to replace the staples in my diet, so it's time to get back on the healthy eating bandwagon again as well.
The good news is that, despite all of this, I haven't really gained any of the weight back. I haven't lost either, but I'm ok with that.
