Best of the 80's

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

So this morning I decide to instead of listening to my ipod while on the eliptical I turned on the music station on the TV to listen to "THE BEST OF THE 80's" . It was AWESOME!!! I listened to "You dropped the domb on me", chaka chan, Georgia Satelites, "Baby's got Back" , etc. I actually found myself trying to sing while running. Hard to do when you are out of breath but I was smiling the whole time. I normally do not listen to oldies but I was having some serious high school flashbacks. ha ha

Today is my son's 10th birthday. Just 10 years ago we induced labor so that my husband could see his son before leaving two days later for military deployment. I was lucky I guess because I got him all to myself 10 months of the first year. I got all of the smiles, first steps, tears, etc. I can't imagine my life without my little man (now not so little). He is so smart and sweet I fear no girl will ever be good enough for him or pass the Mommy test.

Within the past 4 days I have had a daughter turn 8 and a son turn 10. I can't belive how time seems to fly by. I told my daughter she was getting to old and I was going to trade her in on a younger model. I also told her to STOP GROWING UP! She said she would try but did not think it would work. ha ha

Last night I took my son out to the chinese buffet sushi bar close to my house for his birthday. My daughter has dance tonight so I knew we would not be able to go tonight. I planned ahead of time and I actually did very well. I put everything in my counter before I left and the only thing I ate in addition was some steamed clams and an ice cream cup which I had room for in my days calories. So all went well.

They grow up fast, except when they hit the teen years, then it's not fast enough...lol! They are a blessing. We are also lovers of the 80's music. By the way, good for you for planning ahead on your eating-out outing...;o) Blessings!!
