A comment left on ITSMATT’s blog mentioned a website called QuantifiedSelf. I went to it and browsed through the 51 pages of online trackers – many on money, moods, nutrition, fitness, etc. There were a few trackers on gratitude… the premise being that if you express gratitude daily, you will be happier. Or something.
I figure that a little gratitude in my life couldn’t hurt. Since I don’t need another website to log into, I initially thought that perhaps I’d use paper and pen to write my daily thanksgivings. But then I noticed that SparkPeople has a journal function, so I added my own goal to write 5 things I’m grateful for each day (5x/week), and will use the journal for that.
I started yesterday. I won’t usually share my list, but I will this time. Gratitude Journal - Day 0:
That new peanut butter
Feta cheese
Super high WWF score
My mom's love
The deep truths of Bob Dylan
Day 1 will be today, the day I turn 36.
