Robot Baby

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

My youngest daughter is a junior in HS. She is taking a health and wellness class. This week her assignment was to bring home a baby. No not the real deal but a robot one. I pick her up from school and she is already looking frazzled. They have a baby carrier for it and she proceeds to get in the car meanwhile it starts to cry. She figures out what is the matter and we head home.

I want to see this little invention as we did not have these when I was in school. So I pick it up and it is heavier than I thought. They even bother to make them a boy or girl. She brings home a little girl. the diaper is on backwards I say, for I see plumber crack and nobdy wants to see that. She says nope that is the way they came. It has a sensor in it that has to be just soo.

We hadnt been home long when it begins to cry again. I tell her leave it for I wanted to see what my crazy dog would thing of it. She did and my dog was like oh my what is that thing. We have only ever had one child in the house one time that was considered a baby and they were like 10 months. Not fussy either. Bekkah proceeds to make it stop crying. All is well we think, not even 30 minutes later it is fussing again. My cat now has found this baby and is not pleased. Staring it down giving it the evil eye.

Anyway we must have fed, held, changed a diaper and tried to burp it many times before I headed to bed. Too funny. The experience I believe will stick with her for sometime. Just before 5 am I could hear it again. A good taste of a Needy Baby Greedy Baby( Big Bang ref)

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Those robot babies are creepy! Thank God I never had to do that. You just reminded me of the movie License to Wed with Robin Williams in it. The main guy is taking care of two robot babies and the robot babies start throwing up everywhere and crying in the middle of a mall and he ends up beating one of them to "death". I hope your robot baby isn't that bad, but at least it will make your daughter think twice. :)

ROFLMBO!! You, the dog, and the cat are fairly good sports. I would have been calling the teacher and telling her to come and pick up Robot Baby. LOL. Otherwise it would have spent the night in the car. LOL.

My health class required us to where a pregnancy belly all day including the men. Then I had to bring one of those babies home. The computer inside the baby tells the teacher what you had done for or to the baby. It was a very good experience. That is probably the reason I didn't have my baby until I was 31.

Technology has come a long way - when I was in high school we had to carry an egg around for our health class parenting experiment! This sounds a bit more effective at making its point emoticon
