January 16th

Wednesday, January 16, 2013

I have been up since 1:30 am and haven't been able to get back to sleep it is 4:10 am now. When I was working I was getting up at 2 am so I could get my strength training or yoga workout in and get some sparking done before I went to work. I was laid off from my job on Saturday so have been sleeping in until 6 am. I got my knee strengthening exercises done this morning. I have a dumbbell workout to do today. Shadow and I will also take out daily walk.

I have made the decision to continue my duties as Food Chairperson this year for the American Cancer Society- Relay For Life of Webster Lake again this year. Olive Garden is going to provide Spaghetti and Meatballs along with breadsticks to serve 700 people for this years event which takes place September 7-8th 2013. I have secured a cake for our committee meeting in February So I'm off to a good start so far this year. Our kick off event in which I need to get 2 full sheet cakes for is on March 18th so I am hoping our online donations pages are up at that time. I really love being a part of the Relay For Life and doing other American Cancer Society events throughout the year.

I finally have my nerve block injections set up my first one is set up for tomorrow the 17th the second one is set up for the 24th. I am a little nervous about getting an injection in my neck and being sedated. It states in the after care instructions that I need to have an adult keep an eye on me for 12 hours after the procedure which would put it at around 3:30am. I have never had a procedure that stated that so it makes me even more nervous.

I have also been job hunting and have put in applications and sending my resume to quite a few places, I am hoping to hear back from some soon.

My daughter has not been feeling well her stomach condition has flared up again and it has never flared up this bad. She has had this since she was 15 and nobody has been able to pinpoint the cause. She is constantly in pain she has become used to the pain when she gets the flare ups the pain is unbearable. Took her to the ER last Thursday and they gave her a medication for spasms which is also supposed to help with the pain. The medication makes her really tired.

    Hi Amy,

Thanks for your "likes" on my Feed Action for my 2 pounds weight loss. Before Christmas, I was weighting the same as you (127), but I have gained during Christmas vacations (130.8). Shame on me! Now, I weight 129. I saw that you're now at 123. WOW!

I am sorry to read that you have been laid off. I'll pray for your job hunting.

Like EMMELINEE3, I take melatonin, except that I take it all the times. However, I am 58 and as we get older, we produce less melatonin, as Dr Oz says here :

As I was reading about your daughter, I was thinking about a food allergy. I am reading a book called the "Wheat Belly" from the cardiologist Dr William Davis who thinks that wheat consumption may bring some health problems and worsen others.

On Amazon, you will be able to read many reviews on that book :

Maybe you could find it at your public library. Here in Montreal, we can find it in French and in English in our public libraries.

Take care!

Christine

.S. : You had an injection on January 17. Today is January 20. How was it? I'll pray for your second injection.

Amy I have a few thoughts if you don't mind.
1. have you tried chamomile tea to help with sleep. I also sometimes take melatonin.
2. I need your advice on how to get places to donate items such as food, etc. for something I want to head up.
3. Has your daughter seen a GI doctor for possibly celiac disease? food allergies, or is it possibly a nerve condition?

You have a full load, but sounds like a great attitude - emoticon for your work with the American Cancer Society - it helps!

I'm sorry to hear that you've gotten laid off.. It's so hard to job hunt, especially when you're not feeling your best. I am hoping that you and your daughter feel better soon.
