Life is full of twists & turns

I am not a runner - yet... So this past Sunday, when my beloved Atlanta Falcons won another game, I went outside to run the Falcon Flag up the drive and around the cul de sac. My little 3 year old grandson ran up to the end of the drive (he forgot to put his shoes on in all the excitement) and cheered me on. I guess I overdid it and some how stepped wrong. Monday I could barely put pressure on the right leg. It is some better today.
This leads me to ask, why in my brain, would a 50 something Grammaw think she can just hop out and run like a 25 year old. I came to the conclusion, it is the same attitude that won't let me give up reaching for my goals. Sure, I get knocked down a lot but I keep climbing back up, reaching for the stars. Maybe that is why I pull for the Falcons so much. They are much like me in this respect.
I am running this race, whether I am a runner or not. Who wants to join along and see some records broken along the way???????

I know what you mean - in my mind I am 25 and forget, until my body reminds me, that I am 56! Good for you for your enthusiasm! You are doing great!

You are so right. I will be 40 next month, don't feel like it though. That is one of my goals, I want to be able to run by summer. Keep it up.You've got the right kind of attitude! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

We are not what society says we are (50 year old grandma); we are what we feel (like a person celebrating the win of their favorite team. . .)

You ran because you rock!

Physical age has nothing to do with mental age. I love your attitude - you will never grow old! emoticon
