The Question Is...Do you exercise while you are sick?

I've been ill since the New Year started from a migraine to stomach flu to now a sore throat, sinus, cough, and chest congestion. I'm ready to get healthy and start my new year! Maybe my body is rebooting. :)

    Gracias! All excellent advice :) I exercised, but took it slow, very slow, I got in one rep when the exercise tape did 3. I felt better loosened up the congestion in my chest and slept better. :) emoticon

    My answer... Yes. And No. emoticon

If I have a fever, severe cough, or congestion - NO. I have discussed this with my doctor and she agrees that these things require REST to recover quicker.

If I have a manageable headache, aches and pains, mild cough, runny nose, etc - YES.

If I am contagious, but feel like I can exercise, I will stay the heck away from the gym, but work out at home. emoticon

    Listen to your body - if you feel weak, don't do it. If you feel a boost of energy, a short walk in fresh air could be helpful.

    depends on how sick you are...a little sick and I exercise... alot sick and I don't exercise...and I when I'm a little sick I do light exercising too

  i've been told if you can breathe deeply before you start exercising without coughing, you can exercise. if you can't, do not exercise.
