Make yourself go, regardless of circumstance

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

So today, on my training agenda was swimming. Great intentions when I awoke and planned out my day - I will go swim after work.

However, when 5 o'clock rolled around the little devil voice started talking to me:

It's too cold outside. I don't want to change clothes and drive to pool. You don't even like the SC (area fitness center with pool). You can start your swimming training later. Do it tomorrow night like the original plan. You can't swim this close to eating and on, and on, and on.

BUT - I put that suit on and headed to the SC to swim. And yes, I truly despise going to this facility but it is the ONLY one in town with a pool - now you know why. AND tonight, was basketball leagues as well. Thought I would never find a parking spot.

Happy to report I did my 1,000 meters faster than expected and headed home. Very glad I went and did my workout.

Now, I am going to log my swim meters to add to our Multisport team challenge of swimming.
Woo hoo for me.

Yea - way to make it happen! Doesn't it feel great to be finished, when you never wanted to start in the first place! Way to go!!

Woo Hoo Indeedy! I have a hard time getting motivated to swim because of all the prep it takes and time afterwards to change, drive home, etc. I have heard myself say those same excuses everytime!

Awesome! It's so easy sometimes to try to talk ourselves out but we feel so much better when we just do it!
