Dancing in the dressing room !!

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

The other day I blogged about how disappointed I was that I only lost 2 pounds last week. It brought the total weight loss to 37 pounds by still I was disappointed. Well today I needed a pick me up, so I did what I love to do SHOP! I wasn't going to by anything, just browse around for a little. I went into Lane Bryant, and started picking outfits a to try on. And to my surprise, I had to go back to the rack to get the smaller size! I might not have lost more than two pounds last week, but I sure did lose inches. I am proud to say that, in their shirts, i am in the smallest size the store carries! That's right a 14/16 fits me! emoticon ... I could have went bankrupt buying new shirts, but I stopped myself, thankfully. I told myself that I could buy one item as a "good job, keep going present"...and that's what I did. I had to stop, not just for the sake of my bank account, but because I didn't want to become complacent in my new healthy lifestyle journey. I love the Lane Bryant store but I don't always want to be their customer. I know I have a while longer in there, because of my, for lack of a better word, luscious behind, but I do want to " under grow" their store.

So I will relish in my new mini victory and wear my new shirt proudly, but I will not settle, not even for a minute. I did stop by another store and picked up two new sports bras and workout shirts, I figured that if I am going to start running, ( outside, where people can see me) I might as well look cute doing it!

You won't be there much longer!!!

This past summer I got a LB catalog in the mail. I was browsing through it, checking out the tops and really looking at them closely...when all of a sudden I remembered - wait a minute - these clothes don't fit me anymore...I'm no longer in these sizes! It was a very strange feeling. Exciting, of course, but also very strange...still working on developing a new sense of self.

Keep up the great work! 37 pounds is quite an accomplishment!
