Day 1 was suppose to be yesterday, but I got no sleep and was exhausted. I know my limits. I promised myself I would start today and I did.
This week is HARD! I am so glad that the 3 minute walk/2 minute run is for two weeks (going for a longer period of time the second week). I had a lot of trouble sustaining a run for 2 minutes, and I got really scared that I would not improve. But I will. If I stick with the program, I have to improve. It's basic physiology, right?
Today I really focused on my breathing. I found that I could sustain a slow, deep breathing pattern, which helped prevent me from getting over-tired, for about 1:15. It's those last 45 seconds that made running so hard. So for this week, that is my goal. To work on my breathing until I can run for 2 minutes at 6 mph.
