Blood counts today

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

BRRRR! Hard to believe just a few days ago we had two days of temperatures in the 50's. It was only 15F when I got up this morning. Now it's up to 30F with a windchill of 21, but at least the sun is out.

No chemo this week but I had to go and get lab work done to check my blood counts. White blood counts are down; I have to be careful, but they are not in the dangerously low range where I have to "quarantine" myself. Hemoglobin went down a little bit from last week; still in the range where it causes fatigue, but not low enough to require a transfusion. Since I do not have chemo this week, there is a good chance the hemoglobin will go up on it's own by next week.

I had to stop at Rite Aid to pick up some prescriptions before coming home. While I was there, I checked out the Christmas clearance. I wasn't really expecting to find anything good since by this time of the year it's usually pretty picked over, but I actually found some very nice, very cute boxed Christmas cards with cats and dogs on them, 20 per box, originally $10, marked down to $2.50; I got two boxes for next year.

I was very glad to get back home today and out of the cold. I am still going strong on my exercise streak, 15 days so far now!

Here is recent picture of me; I snapped this while I was waiting for my mom to pick me up for church on Sunday.

    Hi Shari,

Love the pic of you! You look great. Don't know what happened for me to get out of the loop of your blogs, but hopefully I will be able to keep up with them again now.
