Two weeks into what is quickly proving to really being a Lucky 13 year, and I'm doing really well! I've not had and bread, though there have been times I've been tempted! I've pat myself on the back several times for resisting the urge to consume :) I'm so proud of myself! I've been fortunate that my friend cooks mostly from scratch and while I was in training I packed my breakfast and lunches. That helped tremendously! The cafeteria at NOAA is a deathtrap of burgers and fries.
I snuck a peek at my weight progress on a friend's scale last Thursday after I'd spent the night on her futon. Though I *know* her scale will read differently than mine at home, I was pleased to at least see it down from my 01/01 weigh-in. I'm not logging it, but wrote it down in case I get to use her scale again in the future :) I'll probably do the same when I get to Dutch Harbor with my friend Krista's scale....even though I know this won't necessarily be my smartest move.
I caught a cold last week while I was in training to go back to work and it settled into my head over the weekend. Yesterday was my worst day, but thankfully I made it through the day without turning to comfort foods like I would normally have in the past....and by that I mean McD's, pizza, ice cream, bagels, doughnuts, etc. Yay, me! The only off-menu thing I had was some leftover homemade mac&cheese that my friend made for dinner one night. (pasta is on my NO list)
I'm actually QUITE PROUD of my SparkSummary calendar :)
I'm going to keep quiet about any 'streaks' that I've got going, but what I'm doing/what I've got going on is speaking so loudly to me. I'd like to keep them on the down low though, for fear of getting too pig-headed and sliding off track as I have in the past. I'll give you one little hint: one starts with a B and I haven't had any since the start of the NEW YEAR!!! (and no, it's not bread, I already gave that one away!)
Sorry to y'all that I'm not Sparking often since I've gotten back to work-mode! I've been in Seattle since the 2nd and am staying with a friend who has 3 little's who seem to monopolize my every waking minute....in a good way ;) I head to Dutch Harbor to get on the Kodiak Enterprise Jan.20th. For those of you who've been friends with me through the years, this is the boat I was on Jan-March 2011. (the one with the collision incident)
Once I get on board this boat, I'll be able to update with a blog occasionally but my computer time will be limited. I'll apologize now for not being able to keep up on your blogs and whatnot! I'll be much more active through email (because they can't regulate that as much as what looks like surfing when I'm on other web pages) so if any of you would like to keep in contact through email for a personal support edge, message me and I'll pass my address along!

Hope you are ALL having some of your own successes these first two weeks of our new year!!
