OK...Week 2 in review
My goal was to strength train 2-3 days. One exercise each for upper, lower, and abs. I chose counter pushups, knee-ups and squats. I met my goal and did ST 3x. I found a safe baseline to start, then I increased my reps and finally got to 2 sets of each exercise. And I did it without hurting myself!!!
My goal was to do cardio 3x/week for 15-20 minutes. I only did 2 days of actual cardio (15 min/20 min). The third day of cardio I tried doing Dance Central 3, which isn't my favorite game anyway, and I got a bit frustrated and gave up! I didn't even log the time, because I spent most of it going through the menu and not really dancing. I don't know exactly why I don't like the dance games, everyone else seems to love them. In the future, I need to do the games that I really love like Kinect Sports, Kinect Sports 2, Fruit Ninja, etc. Or if I feel like dancing, just put some music on and dance! My goal is to make the cardio FUN! Also, I was trying to do the cardio right after the ST, but maybe I could try doing the cardio on a separate day? Eventually, it will probably be a good idea to do the ST and the cardio on different days anyway, so I could start that habit now?
My goal was to do lots of stretching, yoga and foam roller work. I don't think I met this goal. I could definitely improve in this area. As for the meditation...oops! Well, there's always this next week.
My goal was to continue the decluttering and cleaning. I met that goal. I got 3 good days of heavy house cleaning in (90min/75min/50min), in addition to lots of decluttering and organizing. So, not only is my house looking better, but I got a little exercise! A 2 for 1 deal! And it was FUN!
I met my goal of staying active on SP and reading lots of motivational blogs and articles. It really is amazing how much that has helped. So thank you to everyone for being supportive. And a big thank you to everyone out there who is a part of SP in any way. I love reading the blogs, even if I don't always comment on them. I learn from others' successes, as well as, the struggles and challenges that others face. We really do help each other!
My goal of losing one pound was met! WooHoo! I actually used the food tracker all seven days!
Not so good news:
Although I met my goal of losing 1#, I had to go below 1200 calories to do it! Boohoo! I am weighing and measuring very accurately and using the food tracker. It doesn't surprise me, because in the past I have had the same problem. I know I need to be more active! Not just exercise, but more movement in general. Without hurting myself! Maybe I need to play around with increasing my calories some days or maybe the type of foods I eat? I need to figure out how to change this! I don't want to get stuck at under 1200 calories! I'm not sure yet, but I will figure it out!
I think I did great! Of course, there is lots of room for improvement! I think the biggest achievement of the week and this year so far is...I have not given up. I have already faced some of my usual challenges and...I have continued on anyway!!! That really will be the biggest difference for me this year! No giving up! No surrender!
