It's so easy to ignore things...

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

For those of you who have followed me, you guys know that I was here almost every day, I was working out almost every day and I was doing it.

I was losing the weight and I felt good.

Slowly but surely I noticed even with my low healthy food intake, vitamins and working out I stopped losing weight and then I started gaining.

At first it was beyond my control, then I just sort of gave up, I made excuses and just threw my hands in the air and started eating with no regard.

Then I woke up and started working out again and eating better. No change.
Change things up again, nope no change, in fact I noticed I gained.

I was getting really frustrated, and then I noticed that I was spotting off and on for 2 months. I also noticed that my energy level was low.

I took way too long but I finally went to my doctor and got my blood work done,

Yep my thyroid is out of sync again.

Which explained everything and I started increasing my exercise and changing my diet after I saw my doctor.

So here I am, because sparkpeople has always helped me track my exercise and eating. Plus my friends I have made here have always been supporitive.

I have actually lost 7 pounds since I have seen my doctor, it’s a combination of my increased medication, exercising every day and eating better.

For a while it was really easy to ignore what my body was telling me, and it got way too easy to not come here and keep myself on track. I felt ashamed and just sad, so it was really easy to ignore everything.

Last time I was on sparkpeople I weighed 172 and I weight 175 now, so I am not too far away.

I have two weddings to stand up this year too! My sisters and my sister in law are getting married.

140 is the goal but I will take the 150 too.

I missed you guys, I may leave from time to time on spark but I can’t help but come back to my home here.

    Ditto... Ditto... Ditto.

My weight goals are the same. But without getting on that scale, I'm just about positive that I'm in the mid 180s right now, and I would seriously cry if it was higher than that.
My endocrinologist has me off the birth control now since Oct. My stomach area has like ballooned....I went out and got looser jeans, still a size 10, but I want back into my size 8s. And as you know...with all the hormonal changes (thyroid is thank goodness still okie dokie), my sleep, energy levels, and of all things heartburn...have been all out of whack.

I'm getting back into control. Over the holidays I made lots of gluten free cookies and drank alot, so now I'm getting back on track with Paleo and getting my exercise back in there.

I asked my endocrinologist how come I'm having such a hard time loosing weight and she said it's the hashimotos and usually just going gluten free helps, but obviously for me I need a lot more help than that.

Glad to see ya back here! :) I hope your thyroid issue clears up for you soon. That does not sound fun. :( Glad you figured it out though!

Please know that we have almost all been where you've been- afraid to come back to SP. BUT the important thing is you ARE back here, and only up a couple of pounds! No biggie, girl! You can do this-- look how far you've come! 2-3 pounds is a helluva lot better than 20 pounds- which can easily happen(something I know too much about from the past!) You got this!

Welcome back, I have problems with my Thyroid also.
I haven't lost any weight for a while now. Maybe I should have mine checked.
I left the site 2 different times but I came back to be with my friends and get the support that I need.

I know you can do it!

So glad to hear you are back on track. I did the same thing towards the end of last year, and also felt ashamed to come back! I haven't even been brave enough to step on the scale yet, I'm just exercising and eating right and I'll weigh when I get brave enough :) No need to be ashamed - the truth is, Spark is a wonderful community and we have so much support here. You can make your goals! You got this!!!

Welcome back. I think a lot of us have been down the same road of being ashamed and sad and leaving this site and going back to old habits. I know I have about 4 different times now. But you took the step and are back and that's awesome. You can do this. We ALL can and we're here for you. Good luck! emoticon emoticon
