I had lunch with two long time friends who I have not seen in a really long time (over a year). One just got back from spending 2 years in Africa with the Peace Corps after retirement. The other had moved down south for a temporary consulting gig.
Well, they did see the 40 pound weightloss that occurred in 2012. The one question that I thought was odd..."So what do you not eat now that you would eat before the weight loss?". Without even having to think, I said nothing. It really comes down to portion control and exercise.
The other friend then asked if I had done any research and practicing of food pairing. The answer was no....success simply was portion control and exercise.
We humans really try to make things more difficult than it needs to be.
I am happy that I found my simplistic equation even if it is some times hard to stay onboard with it.
