Well, I'm back to the SparkPeople program again. I've had sucess with the program in the past. I had lost some weight and I was able to establish a regular sleep schedule. I've been able to maintain for the most part ever since. I've also made some friends through SparkPeople that I'm still friends with.
I'm making the committment to stick with the program definately much longer than last time. I was looking through my past goals and realized that they were good goals. But looking back probly not specific as they could have been.
This time around I took my end target weight goal and made it into smaller mini-goals. When making the first mini-goal target date I looked at what is concidered a healthy weight loss per week/month. But I mainly concidered what I know about myself. I love food and I love to eat. Unfortunately in the past my food choices helped to put excess weight on.
I have come to the conclusion and almost an acceptance that it's ok to love food. But there has to be a healthy view of it and healthier choices need to be made.
Instead of eating foods high in sodium, fat, and/or sugar. Fruits and veggies need to become more of a "friend" (as well as drinking enough water daily).
From what I've read and heard it takes longer to burn off excess weight than to put it on. Excercise is part of the solution to weight loss too. For me that will be a challenge to stick with a program long enough that it becomes a "loved" routine.
The excess weight I have didn't take overnight to be there though. So it won't take overnight to get rid of it. I think it will be a challenging, but good journey to better health. Looking forward to taking that journey with the help of SparkPeople.
