I know this can't be happening but this is two days in a row where I am posting. Hmmm. Strange.

You know when you are trying to make changes in your lifestyle and there are things you need to do differently but it just doesn't come so easily? So you focus on doing just that over and over until it becomes naturally for you to be doing it right? Well that's been going on with me the past several months or so. I have really been focusing on my fruits and veggies because I never get them in. I have also been focusing alot of my attention on getting more exercise minutes in, more steps, etc.... emoticon

Well the funny thing is that during all of this I began slacking on reducing my sodium. At the same time I haven't been too concerned with my water as long as I was getting in my normal 8-9 cups. emoticon

Looking back my sodium has been awful. As a matter of fact the other night I was on my way home after a very long day and I was so tired I didn't trust myself unless I stopped for a snack or something to keep me awake. I then remembered that I had a package of sunflower seeds in the car and snacked on them. It did the trick but the extra salt caused some swelling in my calves.

Back last year I was following the trick to drink 1/2 oz of water per pound of body weight. I haven't been doing that! Yesterday I pushed 14 cups of water (112 oz). Yesterday I was complaining about not being able to lose any weight and this morning I was down 1.8 pounds.

I can't stay out of the restroom today but that's all good. I know it's for a good cause. So if you actually stayed long enough to read this post - be sure to drink your water today. emoticon

I know what you mean about the salt/sodium! It's in EVRYTHING IN HUGE DOSES!

I buy lowfat cheese, soups, weight watcher meals but whoa, I have to do it in moderation because of all the salt!

I joined the sparkteam- Lowering salt intake, it's helping.
I made a low sodium black bean soup, I love it, high fiber, low cal, almost zero fat, very filling, warm and tatsty. I posted the recipeon my blog earlier this month.
Best wishes on the lower sodium intake.

also as for water, one thing I do, which I think helps my metabolism and digestion, is I drink an 8-16 ounces of water in the morning, right after I used the washroom and weigh myself, then I wait about 15-20 minutes before I eat breakfast. I have read this weight loss/healthy lifestyle tip many times.

I also keep a water botte right next to my workstation at work. Every time I have a moment, I take a healthy sip- at least an ounce,, and before I know It, I drank 16 ounces ( 2 cups)

    You are doing great!

    Keep up the good work!
