My gym is close enough that I can walk to it. I leave my apartment about 15 minutes before a class begins. It gets me there early, but it accounts for lights and street crossings and whatnot. After an hour-long class, I walk back home and take a shower. Letís add up the time spent on a 60-minute workout:
15 (walk and wait)
+20 (walk home and shower)
95 minutes spent ďon the gymĒ
Going to the gym is certainly a commitment. I save time when I work out at home, but I donít usually get as good of a workout in! (I am also fortunate that I have the time! My job is not usually demanding, and my home life is pretty quiet and content.)
Letís celebrate our commitment to our health and the time it takes to improve it! Additional kudos to those of you with demanding jobs, children, and spouses!
