I wanted to take a few minutes to celebrate this week's weigh-in: SIX POUNDS DOWN!!!!!!!!!! A great start for first week back on track! I'm down to within a couple of pounds of my pre-Thanksgiving weight. It feels great to start a step in the right direction, even if a lot of that was water weight.
I'm really proud that I managed a loss through this difficult past week. It started off great, but my bunny got really sick on Thursday, spent all of Friday in the hospital, and has required lots of at-home care since being discharged. He's definitely on the mend (he has chronic GI issues), but my schedule was thrown off, and I was so stressed out, I had plenty of opportunities to do some emotional eating. I went several days without actually tracking - but I did mental tracking, because my goals were always on my mind.
So what have I been doing right? I've gotten a hold of my evening snacking - something that really surprises me. Usually this is the hardest time of day for me and I struggle hard. Maybe it's focusing my attention on Pancakes (my bunny, not the food!), but I've been trying to have a glass of tea after dinner instead of raiding my fridge for desserts (notice the word desserts - I'm famous for multiple desserts in one day). The tea is something I have to enjoy slowly, it's got great flavor, and it seems to silence my sweet tooth.
Something that's also worked really well is using Pinterest to occupy my free evening times instead of sitting staring at the TV, because I always snack when all I'm doing is TV. Pinterest is a great resource for new recipes, DIY ideas, and healthy images plus it keeps my hands and brain occupied. It's SUCH a great way to keep me away from snacking and gives me ideas to further keep me busy with the DIY ideas and I've found some great new recipes to keep me interested in healthy eating.
And I want to say it again - I LOST 6 POUNDS THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Get it girl!!!!
Oh - and my Rockin' Body DVD system has arrived! YAY!!! Can't wait to try it!
