A Good Workout

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

I worked all weekend and surprisingly, I am not totally exhausted today. I plan to go to the gym in about an hour and get a good workout in! I am starting this journaling process to help myself stay focused and motivated.
This morning I woke up feeling blotted and uncomfortable, the scale is telling me the same thing by showing me a 3lb gain (Itís that time of month)
I want to lose weight but losing weight is not my only goal. A few years ago I lost weight and I was about 130lbs but I was not thrilled about being slim so this time I want to find something that is more gratifying like increasing my energy and endurance and developing a lasting healthy lifestyle. For this reason, I will journal this process.
I went to the gym and got in a good work out in perhaps the idea of journaling is motivating me already. I usually do the elliptical machine when I go to the gym for 30mins and this time I was motivated to do 45mins and I did, it felt good. I then cooled down on the treadmill for 10 mins and road the bike for 10 mins and cooled down again on the treadmill for 5. I felt great afterwards!

emoticon on getting your gym time in...yes, this journey has to be about more than just "looks"...that is a part of it but overall health is much more important!

You're right that it's not just about the weight loss. You want to be healthier and have more energy. After all, SICK people lose weight too!

I WAS concerned when I read that while you were raised in a Christian home you enjoy learning about "Eastern practices." It makes me think that you may have learned a bit about Christ, but you never really met HIM personally.
I wasn't raised anything - my parents stopped taking us to church siince I was 3, and I only went to church if I spent Saturday night with a girlfriend who did (one went to a Catholic church, the other was Baptist). I had an idea, an amorphous belief that there was a God, who had a Son named Jesus, who died on a cross, but had no idea how that applied to ME. Until I met Him personally when I was a teenager, at a Christian coffeehouse. And He changed my life. That was over forty years ago, and I've grown to know and love Him more and more. He helps me to be all i was meant to be.
I pray in all your learning you come to know the Truth. May you be a good steward of the temple given to you by the Creator.
