Ruth 2: 9-11
"Let your eyes be on the field which they reap, and go after them. Indeed, I have commanded the servants not to touch you. When you are thirsty, go to the water jars and drink from what the servants draw." Then she fell on her face, bowing to the ground and said to him, "Why have I found favor in your sight that you should take notice of me, since I am a foreigner ?" Boaz replied to her, "All that you have done for your mother-in-law after the death of your husband has been fully reported to me, and how you left your father and your mother and the land of your birth, and came to a people that you did not previously know.
Hello guys and gals.
I had a great day yesterday. I told you guys about the fast that my pastor asked our church to do starting yesterday. It will last for 5 days, and it is only one meal a day. Well I chose to fast breakfast. I know breakfast is usually the easiest meal to miss, but it is still tuff, especially considering my schedule and my eating habits are changing. Anyways, I fasted breakfast today and I prayed during that time and I did not get hungry. My pastor said I wouldn't, lol.
I went to the YMCA for a workout today, and even took my racquetball racquet. I got me some good cardio in on the treadmill and elliptical. I went to go practice racquetball and I saw some guys I used to play racquetball there. I thought I would be able to play a game or two with them but that didn't happen. I guess sometimes we expect to much of people. Anyways, all in all it was a good day.
I have had many problems trying to figure out how to study my bible. I skip around to much, or I stay in one place to long. Well, Sunday I got my Sunday School's workbook and started reading the scriptures from it. This scripture was part of our study today, and I found something else I wanted to talk about than Grace. It is called recognition. If we continue to do what God calls us to do then He will recognize the good works we doing. Not only that but those around us will see them. Ruth is a great example of this. Boaz saw the things she sacrificed and found favor on her for them. If we can use Ruth as a example and work diligently for God's Kingdom, then the work we do will be seen and rewarded. We can even apply this thought to our diet, and exercise. The work we do for that will be seen and rewarded as well. We just need to continue to turn to God during those times of temptations and trials.
Lord I thank You for Your word, and for Ruth being an example for us. Lord I ask that You would help us keep our mind on the goal. Help us to continue to strive to be faithful followers, and to be healthy. Lord I thank You for Your Holy Spirit that allows me understand your word more and more each day. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
