IC

Monday, January 14, 2013

I've been lost in thought, dealing with a painful IC (interstitial cystitis) flare up and just struggling to accept that I have this stupid condition.
I am worried about how long I will be able to continue driving truck for a living, go on long hikes and other things.
I am finally realizing that I have to learn which foods make my bladder hurt and avoid them. Caffeine, chocolate, acidic fruits and more probably need to be gone forever. Dang! But they recommend vanilla ice cream and Carmel. =)
Maybe I can finally learn to control my eating. ....

Sorry to hear about that Wendy! I have had numerous bladder infections and UTI's in the past and I hate them! So painful and I can't imagine having a chronic condition like that....take care and hope the Dr.'s can find some relief for you whether regular or alternative meds! emoticon

    Wendy...

Sorry you are not feeling well & that you may not be able to do all the things you love to do. I know that feeling with my knee and how it is stopping me.

Get well soon.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I've actually done some research on this and it doesn't sound pleasant. I've often wondered if I have it but I'm not sure since there really isn't much information out there to be found.

I'm so sorry you have deal with this condition. I've heard of it before and it sounds very painful. I have fibromyalgia, and can control most of my symptons but fatigue gets to me, especially when the weather gets hot. It worries me too as every summer seems to be worse. But we have to take what we've been given and learn to deal with it. I hope you can find what works best for you to control your symptoms.

Oh, I'm so sorry you have to deal with this. This is a tough hand. Try not to worry about too far in the future but don't stop working to be prepared to be flexible when needed. I hope you can get this under control in some way (I'm unfamiliar so clueless if it is something you can control).

Take care! emoticon

So sorry your not feeling well. Whenever something like this happens in my life I try to focus on the positive... And I know...it is NOT easy. Give yourself some gradual goals to shoot for. Maybe it'll help make the transition easier. Who knows...after your able to make some changes you might say to yourself "why didn't i do this earlier. I feel great!" Feel better Wendy.

I don't have IC, but have had many, many years of reoccuring cystis. It's always a bummer when our bodies don't cooperate the way we want, especially when that lack of cooperation results in restriction. Wishing you the best as you deal with this.
