So, 13 days into South Beach and I'm down 8 pounds. The important decision to mull over tomorrow is whether or not to begin Phase 2 on Wednesday. I am in no hurry to add any flour-based/wheat-based or simple carbs back into my life, and I have a lot of weight left to lose. However, I would like 1/2 of a grapefruit or one other serving of Phase 2 fruit once a day. And maybe 1/2 of a sweet potato once a week. I'm thinking of calling it Phase 1.5. The question just is: Do I implement on day 15 or wait until day 22?
As a motivator, I did purchase a FitBit One today. I've tried 3 different pedometers over the past 3+ years, from cheap to mid-range. This is expensive but is actually tracking my steps. I think the others didn't pick up on my steps because I'm so short. I'm all synced up on my laptop (it doesn't sync to Androids yet). I didn't get to Target until about 5pm today, so I look forward to tomorrow's step totals.
Tonight, instead of ricotta creme or pistachio nuts, I'm trying to enjoy a cup of lemon chamomile tea (I'm really a coffee person). I'm really proud that it's been 13 days since I drank a beer or had a glass of wine!
