Things are going well and when they do not we work it out.

Monday, January 14, 2013

Over the weekend DH was trying to use the walker. He kept telling me it feels lime a shopping cart that you cannot control.
Sunday afternoon I looked at how it was going over to one side. We have a small ranch with a long passage way built of course with narrow doors.

DH went downstairs to play on his computer. He loves the Patriots but he says when he watches they lose so he is very good about cheering for them but not watching, that was his Sunday afternoon mission.
I went and looked closely at the walker and would you believe it had different size wheels. I measured them and I also measured the Tires. They were the same diameter hub but fatter tires so no wonder it wandered all over for him.
Monday morning I showed him what I thought was the problem I told him I was going back to get it changed. He said not to bother I would just get upset but I do not he just thinks I am.
I took the walker in and asked if the lady could see any problem. No she said I said now try to push it. It did go to the side but they had wood floors we have a rug. I pointed out the wheels were different, she took the walker away and brought it back with 2 NEW MATCHING WHEELS. Now it goes straight and DH does not have to watch the wheels he can look ahead instead.

After lunch we made up the beds and left the house with clean floors and looking great. I was happy with the new arrangement of furniture and DH loves my recliner so everything will be just right when we get home.

Tonight we kind of celebrated, we ate FISH and CHIPS with Malt Vinegar. Oh they were good, oh they were not on the list of approved food but boy are we happy. Now DH has had lots of protein to see him though. There is a wake up call and a shuttle bus is ordered and we are going to just play it by ear.

We have a huge king size bed and we are sleeping together in the the same bed. Since November DH had shingles and I had the flu so it has been quite a special day. Good night Hugs Pat in Maine.

Glad that You and DH had a Very Special Night last night. The Fish & Chips with Malt Vinager sound very good. Have not had any for years though. Excellent Job You did with the Walker too. Now it is ready for DH to use when the Both of You return home. Have they mentioned anything about the Rehabilitation DH will most likely need? Weather at a Rehab Center or At Home? And the Exercises That they will have Him to do? You are in my thoughts and prayers. Things will be Fine. May the Lord Bless and be With You and DH in the Coming Days Too. Take Care. Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Leave it to you, Pat, to figure out the problem . . . FANTASTIC! Good job. Glad the wheels are now proper. Good grief. You'd think that would have been checked when you bought it!

Hugs and prayers for both of you. All good thoughts. Glad you and Fred enjoyed fish 'n' chips with malt vinegar. It IS delicious. Had it when I was in London (over 30 yrs. ago) and it really is the best.

Just know you're both in my thoughts daily.

Love that you are investigative when something doesn't work. I'm glad you got to the hotel safely, had an enjoyable meal and are going to rest-together.
Now, you've been in my prayers for some time now, but this morning I started praying for Fred and you right away. I will hold you in prayer throughout my day.
