I listened to a podcast today on dreaming up our future selves. And focusing on a positive, healthy, future vision of myself.
So...in my dream self...
I'm able to handle stress with resiliency and strength. And when stress comes, I have lots of non-food soothing strategies to cope: seeing friends, talking to friends, meditating, journaling, exercising, knitting, reading, etc.
I eat seated, slowly and mindfully, when I'm hungry.
I feel my feelings and sit with them when I'm not hungry. Even uncomfortable feelings like grief, anger, sadness, frustration, fear, etc.
I wake each day full of energy in a fit body.
I wear all the clothes in my closet and they fit really well.
I say yes to social engagements because I trust myself to enjoy the people and eat in a way that supports well-being.
I get lots of exercise, both planned and unplanned, because I love it.
I get lots of rest, because I make it a priority, and because I sleep soundly through the night (from eating well and exercising regularly).
I shop for and prepare delicious, healthy meals.
It's fun to imagine this me. And I think she's almost here!
