How many calories does thinking burn?

Monday, January 14, 2013

Oh. My. Gosh.

This new job of mine is a doozy! I have been in meetings from 6-7 hours of every single day since I started last Monday. I'm coming into a project two weeks before execution and must get up to speed FAST! I had no idea how exhausting sitting in meetings could be. Every day since I started, I have come home and collapsed on the couch...usually with a headache.

Don't get me wrong - I'm sure I will love the job once I get through this stage. It's a great opportunity that I would never pass up or jeopardize! But holy frijole! I can barely keep my eyes open any more.

Anyone else out there have jobs like this? How do you combat the exhaustion?

do some light stretching to lumber your body up while your brain rests and then get some sleep. I know you will do better after so many meeting hours disappear!

Just keep reminding yourself "it's just a phase" huh? Lots of training for any new job right?

Listen to your body, if you're tired rest and recover. It's adjusting to a new schedule and routine too.

Hopefully it gets better soon. My job never-has-a-dull moment... 5th Grade teacher, so I can't relate too much.
