I have noticed in the past couple of weeks that my reaction to different types of situations is changing - after a stressful meeting I used to "reward" myself with a piece of cake and a cappuccino: now I think up ways of relieving the pressure such as rushing around the block in fresh air or doing 60 jumping jacks in my office. After a nasty argument I used to whip open the cupboard door at the first opportunity and wolf down any biscuits or chocolate in sight: now I take a few deep breathes and grab my dumbbells and hop around to music - if it is a tad loud, well too bad!
For the first time in years I didīnt gain weight over Christmas - I did have some nice meals and a number of treats, but I kept a beady eye on the portion size and on my nutrition tracker and logged things that overstepped my calories for that day into the tracker for the next day.
I have lost 7 kg in 4 months - slowly but steadily and my secret short term goal is to get down to a weight under
60 kg by the end of January. And guess what, I know I will make it!
Sparkpeople and all itīs wonderful members have changed my attitude, my reaction to stress and given me a helping hand every time I was bogged down and feeling helpless!
