Since getting my fitbit one www.fitbit.com/user/2433
, I have set a goal of walking (virtually) across the U.S. using the American Discovery Trail as my path. And since getting my fitbit, I have walked (virtually) across the state of Delaware, travelling 44.66 miles. This takes me (virtually) into Maryland along the American Discovery Trail. My total steps? 104,222.
Total pounds lost since getting my fitbit? 8. Since January 1st? 5lbs gone.
The fitbit definitely seems to be making a difference in helping me stay motivated to move. I need that reality check that I haven’t moved enough—that I haven’t even made it halfway to my goal. It helps kick me in the ass enough to get moving for 15 minutes at a time several times throughout the day. I can make time for 15-30 minutes of walking or aerobics at least once a day—maybe even 2-3 times throughout the day. Beats the hell out of sitting in an office chair or on the couch in front of my laptop all day without getting up for anything except to go to the bathroom or get something to eat.
Onward! Let's see how far across Maryland I can get before January is over!
