I had a chocolate bar for breakfast...

That is definitely not the best way to get back on track after a weekend of indulgences, but I was feeling tired and lazy so it happened. But, I promise I am going to be good from here on out.
I had a great weekend with one of my college friends visiting and I may not have stayed perfectly in my calorie range, but I didn't go totally off the deep end either, so I'm counting it as a success.
On Friday night, I ended up heading into Boston with a group of my friends and had pizza, sangria and cheesecake. Not exactly the dinner of champions, but it sure tasted good. I also only got one drink and just had a few bites of the cheesecake (although I did take the rest home and eat it for a snack the next day...) It was a fun night.
Unfortunately my friend's sleep schedule is a mess and since she was staying at my house, my sleep was definitely affected. She ended up waking up at 3 am on Saturday and I was awake within a half hour. I am a super light sleeper, so just the little bit of noise was enough to wake me. We sat around and talked for about an hour and then decided to try and get some more sleep. We only made it until about 6 am before we were awake again. At that point, I decided we could leave the house and try to go to the gym. But then it wasn't open yet. I guess they open later on weekends. So we stopped at starbucks and got some breakfast and coffee. By the time we were done, the gym was open and I got in a good workout Saturday morning. After that, we went back to my place to shower and get ready for the rest of our day.
Our main events for the day, as I mentioned in my last blog, were going to the New England Aquarium and the Sam Adams Brewery Tour. Both were lots of fun. The aquarium is currently renovating, so we got a slightly discounted rate. At some point, I should post some of the pictures I took there because I had a new camera and wanted to test it out. There are some pretty interesting fish there.
We kind of decided to skip lunch and head to the brewery tour right after that. (It was a conscious decision on my part, knowing we were going to Doyle's for fatty Irish pub food afterwards) If you haven't been the the Sam Adams Tour. I highly recommend it. It is hands-down one of the best brewery tours ever and we did take the party trolley to Doyle's. I got a reuben sandwich with onion rings. It was delicious and I enjoyed every bite, but I did not leave feeling stuffed.
We were planning on going out to a bar later in the night, but since my friend's sleep schedule is so off, our planned nap before we go out turned into her sleeping until 2 am. We chatted for a bit around 2 am and then went back to sleep. I ended up getting up around 8 , but she wasn't ready yet, so I went to church and she was almost awake by the time I got back.
We had a pretty laidback day: lunch at panera and then frozen yogurt afterwards. We also wandered the mall and I spent a little more money I hadn't planned on, but I did get some new workout pants and a top, which I'm happy about.
Oh and then after I dropped her off, I went to play trivia with a teacher friend. We didn't do so well (mostly because we don't know sports or movies) but we had fun, so that's what counts.
Now that the weekend is over, I'm back to work. Back to work, literally. But I'm also back to trying hard to control the choices that I make and making the best choices possible. I am also back to saving money and although it was nice to kind of forget about it for the weekend, I'm back to having to find a place to live... I'm starting to think that moving back to my parents and commuting an hour isn't such a bad option. At least I'd be saving money.
