Since a year ago I have lost about 11 pounds.
This month I have lost about 3 pounds so far. I am really watching portion size and avoiding fried foods, espcially in restaurants. (I asked at a couple of fast food places what kind of oil they used for the fries and did not get specific information. One place said "vegetable oil." I have a sensitivity to cottonseed oil and found that some restaurants stretch out their olive oil by adding cottonseed oil to reduce the cost.
The other thing in addition to unwanted fats is avoiding salty foods as I tend to retain fluid, especially in my legs, ankles and feet If you find a chart (on line or at the restaurant) the tells the amount of sodium it puts my food into the high sodium range with even one serving of fries or just about anything else other than sweets. And then there is the high sugar content of the smoothies they have in restaurants.
I have bought a Ninja machine and make my own smoothies at home and add things like powdered kelp (use sparingly), powdered parsely, rice protein, stevia and fresh fruits.
