My new adventure with almond milk~~

Monday, January 14, 2013

Good Morning Peeps!!

I just wanted to check in on SP; even though I won't be on alot to day (this TMJ is throwing my sparkstreaks off :( I am doing better but I am having side effects from the medicine. The one being that I am gaining some weight back. I am up 3 poumds at this point. The doctor told me one of the meds may cause weight gain; plus I am dizzy and can't work-out b/c I don't want to fall or get sick. So, here I am. I will try to remain positive so I can kick it hard once this passes. This weekend though I did try vanilla almond milk on my cereal and I really liked it! This is new for me, generally I don't change the basics in my diet very often but the almond milk has everything my skim has except it is 40 calories less. I have tried Soy milk and I disliked that very much. So I thought I would not like almond milk. Just writing this that we must all keep an open mind on our journey! Have a good day!

I will have to keep an eye out for almond milk. I have never heard of it. I have tried soy milk of which was ok, but will have to look out for almond milk. 40 calories is a lot and is worth it to save. I am trying to figure out what I can eat for lunch other than peanutbutter. I love peanutbutter and jelly sandwiches, the sweetness of it. I don't like lunch meat, too salty and nasty.

I like almond milk too. I just use the non flavored original and it works well for just about everything except making chocolate pudding. For some reason the pudding didn't set up when I made it with almond milk. Love that it has fewer calories and more calcium than dairy milk though. Hope your jaw is feeling better soon!

    Hope you feel better soon!!!

I like Almond Milk vanilla flavored as well. It is quite tasty on its own. I am not too keen on it in coffee though.

I love almond milk...I do not cook too many things with it. I even have my ds on almond milk, but the girls refuse. Good luck with the TMJ and I hope you are feeling better soon.

I love Almond milk! it's all I keep now. I buy the original, unsweetened. Dear hubby doesn't notice I use it when I cook, either! LOL!
Our journey is to be taken one day, one step, at a time. We CAN do it! The great thing about SPARKin' is it gives us the basics, and we can adapt the tools we need to reach our goals and remain healthy for a lifetime!
Sorry you are having a problem adapting to meds... take care of yourself!

I read an article about how humans should not even be drinking cow milk aftera certain age somewhere once. I hate soy milk but I will give the almond milk a try!

How exactly do you milk an almond.....lol. Just kidding! Thanks for the post!

Your job right now is getting better. Eat healthy and in range (low end if you can) and worry about exercise and weight loss when you feel better. Look at it this way, you will drop the weight once you start moving again if you are used to eating at the low end of your range.

Oh good review for almond milk--I happen to love the soy, but always see the almond stuff and wonder about it. Will try it this week! Sorry for the TMJ, hope it gets better soon!

I recently tried almond milk for the first time. It's my new favorite. I put it on cereal and in smoothies.
